Harvest of Hope Family Services Network, Inc. attempts to address the foster care crisis by challenging families, individuals, corporations and institutions to answer the question “what about the children?” Their mission is to mobilize, utilize resources and advocate for policies that address the immediate and long-term needs of foster children.
At Harvest of Hope, they realize that foster children who require out-of-home placement can have a loving and nurturing environment with the intervention of a caring and committed community. The program’s initial approach was to identify and train foster parents recruited through a network of churches throughout New Jersey.
Today the recruitment efforts have quadrupled with the launching of Harvest of Hope’s new marketing and recruitment program. Network recruiters are engaged statewide to assist Harvest of Hope staff and enlist individual families to foster and adopt children. Harvest of Hope also continues its recruitment efforts through the Harvest of Hope network of churches and social service and community-based organizations with a child advocacy agenda and/or the ability to motivate individuals and families to become foster parents.
